Employee Assistance Program for Small Business and Self Employed Individuals

 

What is an Employee Assistance Program?

An employee assistance program is a confidential benefit that an employer provides to their employees. The benefit includes short-term counseling services to address life stressors that may lead the employee to be less effective on the job. RCS provides EAP services exclusively to small business (business that have 1-20 employees).

Why Utilize Employee Assistance Programs?

The bottom line is that companies who do not utilize employee assistance programs lose money due to disability claims, frequent days missed at work, and lack of employee focus. In some cases employees who are distracting on the job can cost employers hundreds of dollars by making careless mistakes or errors. When an employee is able to address life stressors such as divorce, depression, anxiety, distributive teenage, or substance abuse they will be more productive at work. Employers who utilize EAP services have 72% improved work productivity and avoid work loss in 60% of cases (Attridege, 2001),

Problems We Do Not Treat:

We do not provide services to individuals who are actively suicidal, require hospitalization or require long term counseling services.

Who Provides The Counseling Service?

In order to provide small business with the opportunity to have EAP services available to them we utilize Counselor interns. Our counselor interns have completed a Masters degree in counseling and are working on getting additional counseling hours to become fully licensed. Counselor interns are supervised by a licensed professional counselor to ensure the highest quality of service is provided.

Payment:  

Services are paid on a fee for services basis. The employee utilizes the service and the employer receives a bill for the service. Employers will pre- determine what employees have access to the benefit and how many sessions each employee will be allowed. This process allows employers to manage the cost of the program. Companies contracted with RCS will have the guarantee that their employees are seen within 1-5 business days.  In addition, employers have no monthly premiums, or expensive start up fees. Enrollment in the program:

The Enrollment process consist of one face to face meeting with our company representative and a one face to face meeting with employees to explain the services. During the initial visit a list of employees who quality for the benefit will be obtained and the number of sessions allocated per employee will be established.
