Teens are under tremendous pressure to fit in with their friends, make good grades, obey their parents and test their wings of independence.  The situation gets even more complicated with hormonal changes in their bodies and family issues like divorce. Parents often feel more stressed out than the teens because they are left trying to navigate the teens emotional roller coaster of emotions. Getting counseling to address underlying issues can help the teen avoid costly life mistakes. We counsel pre-teens and teens age 10 and up.


Symptoms of Teen Depression

  • Walking with their head down
  • Doesn’t make eye contact when talking
  • Uses negative “I am” statements
  • Sexually acting out online or in person
  • Constant self-doubt
  • Avoids trying new activities
  • Calls themselves names
  • Often involved in teasing, name calling, or gossiping about others
  • Excessive bragging about themselves, their achievements, or appearance
  • Speaks too loudly and aggressive in tone
  • Avoids social situations
  • Apologizes constantly

Symptoms of Teen Suicide

  • Disinterest in favorite extracurricular activities
  • Problems at work and losing interest in a job
  • Substance abuse, including alcohol and drug (illegal and legal drugs) use
  • Behavioral problems
  • Withdrawing from family and friends
  • Sleep changes
  • Changes in eating habits
  • Begins to neglect hygiene and other matters of personal appearance
  • Emotional distress brings on physical complaints (aches, fatigues, migraines)
  • Hard time concentrating and paying attention
  • Declining grades in school
  • Loss of interest in schoolwork
  • Risk taking behaviors
  • Complains more frequently of boredom
  • Does not respond as before to praise

Traditional Counseling 1 hour in depth sessions $90-$120 per session

Affordable Counseling- 40 minute session solution focused $70 per session

Health Insurance Accepted: Aetna EAP, Beacon Health EAP, Military One Source, and insurance flex spending cards.

Insurance Reimbursement: We do not accept most health insurance, because insurance companies require us to disclose confidential information about you such as a mental health diagnosis. We however do provide you with documentation to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company. You submit documentation and your insurance company will reimburse you directly. We require you provide us with a credit card at the time you book your appointment. Your card will ONLY be charged if you no show or cancel with less than 24 hr notice two or more times. This policy is in place in order to compensate our counselors for the effort and time they made to show up for the appointment. We do have secure HIPPA compliant credit cards procedures. The no show/late cancel charge is $50.00.
